Europe’s largest outdoor event, “The National Ploughing Championships” returns to Ratheniska, Co Laois from September 19th to 21st 2023. There were more than 275,000 visitors in attendance in 2022 and, if the weather holds, a similar large crowd is expected this year. RTE will be at “The Ploughing” and will feature live radio broadcasts across RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and RTÉ 2FM, live RTÉ Weather broadcasts on RTÉ One and live RTÉ. Fans of Ireland’s Fittest Family will also get the opportunity to take on the “Back Against the Wall Challenge.”
A new initiative for this year is a free interactive guide that can be accessed using smart phones. The detailed site engineering drawings have been overlayed with GPS and attendees will know exactly where they are and where they are going.
There is a “find my car” feature on the guide that allows visitors to place a marker on the map of where their car is parked and then they can easily locate it when they are heading home.
BTI Rental and Events team have been on site installing the bottle coolers, coldrooms, beer cooling systems and the dispense equipment to ensure great quality draught beer when and where it’s needed throughout the venue. Let’s hope there is a “find the bar” feature on the new interactive guide so that the visitors can easily find the marquees with the draught beer pouring.
